The Hearth of Fremantle by Caine Scott
Hand-forged by Blacksmith artist Caine Scott, The Hearth of Fremantle is a functional fire pit crafted from historic iron bolts salvaged during the 2026 decommissioning of the iconic Fremantle Traffic Bridge. Originally erected in 1939, the bridge stood as a vital gateway for nearly nine decades. This is sculpture transforms forgotten industrial anchors into a communal gathering piece. Through fire and anvil, Caine connects WA’s mid-century infrastructure to the present day, using the literal element of fire to breathe new warmth and modern life into weathered West Australian heritage
